Cedar Branch Wreath

Making your own wreath from your own backyard tree is simple and so rewarding.  Even though the holiday season has come and gone, the wreath can be decorated for any occasion.  Before you discard your real Christmas tree check through the branches to see about making a pretty wreath to extend the season.
We have several cedar trees growing on the grounds and I cut a dozen or so branches to use in my design.  The branches were each about 12" long and most had a natural curve to them.
I used thin floral wire and wrapped several branches to each other and then hung from a door hanger to work further.  This gave me the ability to see how the wreath would actually hang.  I finished connecting to make a circle and did a bit of trimming.
Many different types of decoration can be added to give the wreath its character and charm.  Cedar branches can be used to make a beautiful centerpiece or as decoration for your fireplace mantle.  Take care to keep the wreath/decoration far from flames since they will catch fire.

Use this simple base and add your own special touches!
Enjoy -- Have Fun!!
